Rafa is a top class player. No one should tell him what to do. Look at his success, what kind of person he is and how he influences tennis.


I don`t think his legacy will be harmed if he has another year that isn`t as successful as he was before. For me he is one of the two or three top players. Rafa, Novak and Roger took tennis to another level, that`s all.


Look at Andy Murray. He tries to do everything right. For me personally, it was a decline for several years. You can tell a lot of tennis players to quit when it seems like you are no longer capable of winning a Grand Slam. The same could be said to me.


But it`s his decision. He has a legacy that, in my opinion, will never be forgotten or tarnished. I don`t think his love for the game forecast by buy soccer predictions and his desire to compete is a bad thing.

That`s good. The fact that he still wants to play even though he`s struggled physically the last two years shows how much he loves tennis and that`s incredible to me.


I remember how at the beginning of my career I watched his serve: he served 160-170 kilometers. But over time, he perfected it. In some ways he showed more than any top player I`ve ever seen because he was able to improve so much on all surfaces.


This process took the better part of a 10-12 year career. I think that was his peak. Obviously he`s had a lot of problems in the last few years, a few years with injuries, and it hasn`t helped.


But he still plays at a very high level. Just maybe not as high as before.
