Frankly, I saw Lando [Norris] circle in yesterday`s (Friday - Sports) third segment. From the very beginning of the lap it was clear that the rear soft tires were sliding everywhere, he was experiencing big problems. To be honest, I had the same thing.


Even on the last set I started to slide on the exit of the first turn. There was a breakdown in the seventh turn, and everything went into a spiral.


But it`s strange that it all started already at the start of the lap. That`s what happens in this sport: it favors you until it doesn`t.


We will study the session, but in preparation for the lap everything seemed fine. It happens that we simply didn`t have a clutch on the second set. That`s all.


I sincerely believe that our car is not suitable for 18th position. I hope we understand why tires sometimes behave the way they do.


Yesterday I chatted with Lando for a bit. We didn`t go into detail, but I said: It looked like you were driving on used tires in the third segment. It was clear as day by how bad they looked.


Hope we get an answer. But we are faster than we showed and we will see what happens tomorrow.


We have a penalty [of losing three positions], so I think we are at the very back of the grid. Contrasts with what happened in the morning. Of course I`m not happy, but this happens.


That`s why I told the team in the morning: Let`s at least enjoy these 30 minutes, because this sport is so unpredictable, " Ricciardo noted on Saturday evening.
