Honda promised to continue supporting Tsunoda.
The head of Honda`s racing department, Koji Watanabe, said what options RB pilot Yuki Tsunoda might have in the coming seasons.


The Japanese manufacturer, which supports Yuki, will cease cooperation with Red Bull and RB at the end of 2025 and will become the minder of Aston Martin.


I think it would make a great story if Tsunoda played an active role at RB first and then got promoted to Red Bull. Even after we left, we would closely monitor his progress to the level of top teams.


Tsunoda graduated from the Honda racing school, and if our students become top pilots, this is a dream for us. So it is very important that Yuki becomes a top Formula 1 driver, " the manager said.


Watanabe said that supporting a pilot using competing powerplants would not be a problem:


There won`t necessarily be any difficulties. We will have to make a decision and assess the situation. But yes, we can support Yuki to become a top racer.


The boss also shared his opinion on Tsunoda`s potential transfer to Aston Martin:


We don`t yet know what the Aston Martin line-up will be. Alonso was confirmed, but I have not heard of Stroll being confirmed. I don`t think there is zero chance of such a transition. I think there is such a possibility.


Tsunoda`s move to other Honda customers? There may be other options in the future, but there are no plans right now. At the moment we are not at the stage to talk about a new client team.
