Andreas Seidl is confident that McLaren is the right team for Oscar Piastri.


Seidl spoke out about the noise surrounding Piastri`s departure from the Alpine system at the end of the 2022 season - even before he took charge of Sauber.


I don`t know how serious the additional pressure from this summer story will be. Newbies in Formula 1 are always under pressure. He just won`t dwell on it.


We have a clear program, there are many things that need to be accomplished before the first races [with the 2023 car] in Bahrain next season. Debuting in Formula 1 is a big challenge, it`s a different dimension compared to the youth series. At the same time, we can say that he has everything for a successful start in Formula 1, given his performances in the junior categories, as well as his personality and character.


"In addition, McLaren has the right environment: he will be able to realize how serious this challenge is and prepare properly, " said the ex-Woking team leader.
