Belgium will be without Kompany
The defender Vincent Kompany will not take part in the upcoming qualifiers of Belgium, said the coach of the national team, Roberto Martinez.
Kompany originally received a call-up for the meetings with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cyprus, but returned to Manchester City, having not yet recovered from an injury he got at the end of August.
Martinez denied that there is tension between him and City, saying that they monitor the progress of Kompany and maintain good communication with the club.
'That is not a disagreement, we have protocols and a way of working. We called the players, the team was announced on Friday and then we had two more days to have a clear assessment of the status of the players. This is the situation. Kompany was not in the lineup and failed to join the workouts of the first team, so we respected the recommendation of Manchester City!`, said Martinez.
About the problems of Romellu Lukaku, it also was given an official position. The Manchester United striker has problems with his ankle after the home win against Crystal Palace (4:0).
'Lukaku was subjected to detailed research, but there are not diagnosed fractures or structural damage. The next few days he would follow individual training program, but it is still too early to assert that he would not be available for the upcoming two matches.`, it was announced by the Belgian Football Federation.
