Ferrari pilot Carlos Sainz shared his opinion about the reasons for the team`s not too successful performance in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix.


Sainz agreed that one of the factors was the location of the circuit at a high altitude relative to sea level.


By itself, the factor of the location of the circuit at such a height should not affect the speed of our car in corners. I think it has to do with the behavior of the tires and the performance of the engine. I suppose, given the location of the track at such a height, the engine, of course, does not work quite the way we would like it to.


Even before coming here, we understood that at this stage we would have to make certain compromises. The tires also do not work optimally, it is not easy to drive the car when driving over numerous curbs and bumps. I had to fight with the car. I think that`s why we weren`t able to get a good lap in qualifying, " said Sainz.
